Terms of Service

Effective date: March 22, 2026

These terms govern your use of VocaCast. By using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use VocaCast.

1. What VocaCast Does

VocaCast generates audio briefings on topics you request. We research the web, write a script with citations, and convert it to audio using AI text-to-speech. The service requires an internet connection to generate new briefings.

2. Your Account

VocaCast uses your Apple ID to create and authenticate your account. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple ID. One account per person — don't share your account or use the service on behalf of automated systems.

3. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data needed to operate the service:

We do not sell your data. We do not share personal data with third parties for advertising.

4. Content Ownership

What you own. You own your inputs — the topics you request, your personal data, and your account information.

What VocaCast owns. VocaCast owns all generated content — including briefing scripts, research output, and audio files. This allows us to use generated briefings to operate and improve the service, including featuring them in public discover feeds, on our website, and for quality evaluation. Generated content may also be used in de-identified, aggregated form for analytics and service improvement.

Your privacy controls. Briefings you generate are private by default and are not publicly surfaced or attributed to you unless you explicitly choose to share them. We will never publicly associate your identity with a specific briefing without your consent.

5. AI-Generated Content

All briefings are generated by AI. While we use live web research and include source citations, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or errors. VocaCast briefings are for informational purposes only — they are not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. You should verify any information before relying on it for important decisions.

6. Audio Content & Expiration

Generated audio files are stored temporarily and may expire after a period of time. We do not guarantee indefinite storage of briefings. Cached briefings on your device remain available until you clear app data or delete the app.

7. Account Deletion & Content De-identification

When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data — account information, briefing history, and device links. Generated briefings (scripts, research, and audio) that were created during your use of the service are de-identified: any association with your account is removed. De-identified briefings may continue to exist in our systems and may appear in public feeds, but they will no longer be linked to you in any way.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

9. Third-Party Services

VocaCast relies on third-party services for web research, AI processing, and text-to-speech. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of these upstream services. Briefing generation may be temporarily unavailable if a provider experiences an outage.

10. Disclaimers

VocaCast is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or complete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months prior to a claim.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by updating the effective date above. Continued use of VocaCast after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
