Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

We collect only what's needed to operate the service:

• Account info — If you sign in with Apple: your Apple user identifier, name (if shared), and email (if shared). We never see your Apple ID password.
• Device identifier — A random key generated when you first open the app, used to associate your briefings with your device.
• Briefing history — Topics you request, generated text, and audio files.
• Usage data — Play counts, saves, playback progress, and feature interactions to improve the service.
• Feedback — Messages you submit through the in-app feedback form.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Provide the service — Generate briefings, sync your library across devices, and remember your preferences.
• Improve VocaCast — Understand which features are used and how to make them better.
• Respond to support requests — Address issues you report through feedback.

3. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data to anyone.
• We do not share personal data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or health data.

4. Third-Party Services

To generate briefings, we use third-party services for web research, AI text generation, and text-to-speech. Your topic queries are sent to these services to produce your briefing. These providers process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes. We do not send your name, email, or Apple ID to these providers.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. API keys are stored as cryptographic hashes — we cannot recover your original key. Account credentials are managed entirely by Apple through Sign in with Apple.

6. Data Retention

Your briefing history is kept as long as your account is active. Generated audio files may expire from the server after a period of time, but locally downloaded audio remains on your device. If you delete your account, your personal data (account info, briefing history, device links) is permanently deleted. Generated content (briefing scripts, research, and audio) is de-identified — any link to your account is removed — and may continue to exist in our systems. 7. Your Rights

• Delete your account — In the app: Settings > Delete Account & Data. This permanently removes your personal data from our servers. Generated briefings are de-identified (your identity is removed) but the content itself may persist.
• Use without an account — You can use VocaCast without signing in. Your data stays on your device only.
• Request your data — Email us to request a copy of your data.

8. Children's Privacy

VocaCast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and notify you through the app. Continued use of VocaCast after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
