Effective date: March 22, 2026
VocaCast is designed to respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
We collect only what's needed to operate the service:
To generate briefings, we use third-party services for web research, AI text generation, and text-to-speech. Your topic queries are sent to these services to produce your briefing. These providers process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes. We do not send your name, email, or Apple ID to these providers.
Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. API keys are stored as cryptographic hashes — we cannot recover your original key. Account credentials are managed entirely by Apple through Sign in with Apple.
Your briefing history is kept as long as your account is active. Generated audio files may expire from the server after a period of time, but locally downloaded audio remains on your device. If you delete your account, your personal data (account info, briefing history, device links) is permanently deleted. Generated content (briefing scripts, research, and audio) is de-identified — any link to your account is removed — and may continue to exist in our systems. See our Terms of Service for details on content ownership.
VocaCast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and notify you through the app. Continued use of VocaCast after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
